The John Terry Fine and Performing Arts Scholarship is given in honor of John Terry, an advocate for the arts at Whippany Park High School. For thirty-four years, Mr. Terry was a teacher of Visual Arts and Photography. Active in co-curricular activities, he was head advisor of the yearbook and was involved with many other school activities, but his greatest passion was the theatre, where Mr. Terry worked as scenic designer, costume designer, lighting designer, make-up artist, puppeteer, playwright, and director of over seventy melodramas, children’s theatre productions, musicals and dramas. This scholarship is given to Whippany Park a senior who has achieved excellence in either the visual arts and/or theatre, on stage or behind the scenes.
